Description

Description This area of coppiced sessile oak Quercus petraea woodland, overlying Upper Old Red Sandstone and Quartz Conglomerate rocks, is the last major relict of the formerly extensive ancient woodland of Wentwood Forest. Remarks: Part of the site is subject to a Tree Preservation Order. The scheduled ancient monument of Castell-prin Camp is located in this site.
