Description
Description The crags and deep chasms of Cwm Dimbath were formed as a result of the translational block slide in the Brithdir Sandstone on a S-facing spur of the valley above Nant Iechyd. Massive fallen blocks of sandstone now occupy the floor of the 10+ m deep chasms and support a rich assemblage of liverworts, mosses and ferns, the most notable being the two rare species of filmy ferns, Hymenophyllum tunbrigense and H. wilsonii.
