Description
Boreray The island of Boreray is situated within the south-western part of the Sound of Harris. The site has been notified for its nationally important population of wintering Greenland Barnacle geese and native greylag goose. These numbers represent 1% or more of the total British non-breeding population for both Greenland Barnacle and greylag goose. The island also supports an important assemblage of both breeding and wintering wader birds; however these species are not listed as a notified natural feature within the site.
