Description
Wether Hill Westwater Reservoir Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) lies 2km west of West Linton on the edge of the Pentland hills. This upland reservoir holds a roost of up to 11% of the UK wintering population of pink-footed goose Anser brachyrhynchus between September and April (inclusive). The reservoir and adjacent shorelines also have a varied breeding wildfowl, gull and wader population.
