Description
Miller's Wood Miller’s Wood, located approximately 1 km east of Glespin, is an excellent example of birch woodland, a type which is rare in South Lanarkshire. The canopy is dominated by even-aged and dying birch, predominantly downy birch with occasional silver birch, with rowan frequently occurring. The dominant tree in wetter areas is alder although willow is also frequent in places and near the south-west corner of the site there is a small area of woodland which contains bird cherry and hazel.
