Description

FOSSIL GROVE Fossil Grove, enclosed within a purpose-built building at Victoria Park in Whiteinch, Glasgow is a nationally important site for the study of Carboniferous palaeobotany. It comprises fossil casts of Lycopod trees with Stigmarian bases in mudstones and sandstones of Lower Carboniferous age (formed approximately 325 million years ago).
