Description
DRUMORE LOCH Drumore Loch is a man-made loch located approximately 10km to the north-east of Bridge of Cally, and 2km to the east of the A93. Drumore Loch is one of the few mesotrophic (moderately nutrient–enriched) lochs remaining in Perth and Kinross, and in consequence is of particular interest for its aquatic plant species. Species include the nationally scarce slender-leaved pondweed Potamogeton filiformis along with shoreweed Littorella uniflora, small pondweed Potamogeton berchtoldii, alternate water-milfoil Myriophyllum alterniflorum, spiked water-milfoil Myriophyllum spicatum, common water-starwort Callitriche stagnalis and two types of stonewort (a type of colonial alga). The nationally rare species, Shetland pondweed Potamogeton rutilus, has been recently discovered in the loch.
