Description
Description Duncroft Farm Pit provides the only known exposure of beds of Upper Chalk dipping 25° to the north within the middle limit of the regional fold structure known as the Kingsclere Monocline. This fold is thought to have formed due to accommodation of the Mesozoic cover rocks above major faults in the underlying basement which moved during the Tertiary.
