Description
Description This roadside exposure of the Hastings Beds Group shows two metres of the upper Ashdown Sand Formation and four metres of the lower Wadhurst Clay Formation. Above the Top Ashdown Pebble Bed with extra basinal chert and quartz pebbles and Jurassic glauconite grains, 0.5 metres of dark basal Wadhurst Clay with ironstone nodules is overlain erosively by four metres of the lower division pro fan delta of the Cliff End Sandstone Member.
