Description

Description This laneside cutting shows upper Ashdown Sand Formation lower Hastings Beds Group with siltstones and fine sandstones with sedimentary structures and one metre long Lycopodites plants in life position. It is one of only two occurrences of the latter known in Ashdown Sand Waldron Soil Bed. This is a key site for environmental interpretations in the Wealden.
