Description
Description This is a classic geological locality of the Upper Cambrian. It is important in providing the best outcrop of Sheinton Shales of the Tremadoc Series in the area in which the series was originally defined. The fossil faunas are exceptionally rich and contain trilobites, ostracods, cystoids, hyolithids, brachiopods, sponges, graptolites and an annelid. Many fossil species were first defined from material collected here and trilobites from this locality have been the subject of particularly detailed study.
