Description
Area, 139.4 hectares 344.5 ac Description Bradford Kames is an important site for glacial geomorphology. The interest comprises an esker ridge and a series of ridges and mounds consisting of glacial till and fluvioglacial deposits. The total assemblage of features provides a striking example of the complex landform and sediment associations that developed during the wastage of the last ice sheet. Spindlestone Pond, lying between two ridges at the northern end of the site, supports a locally important population of great crested newts.
