Description

Area, 3.2 hectares 8 ac Description An area of scattered sarsen stones which are now extremely rare on the Berkshire Downs. The stones support a flora of rare and local lichens and the site is the easternmost known locality in Britain for Buellia saxorum, Candelariella coralliza and Ramalina siliquosa. Ramalina is characteristically a maritime species and occurs here at its most inland locality.
