Description

Area, 0.9 hectares 2.1 ac Description This locality is of considerable sedimentological and palaeontological interest, in addition to being of stratigraphical value. This locality exposes a complete section of the Middle Jurassic Rutland Formation, including the type section of the Wellingborough Member. Most of the overlying White Limestone is also exposed, containing important in situ shell banks of oysters and rhynchonellids within the well developed Kallirhynchia sharpi Beds.
