Area, 7.8 hectares 19.3 ac Description The fossil tunnel in Strans Gill Pot is probably the most beautifully decorated cave passage anywhere in Britain and its location at the bottom of a difficult pot hole ensure that its magnificent stalagmites and stalactites are protected from vandalism. Furthermore, the morphology and sediments of this deep cave system provide the most complete evidence of the Pleistocene evolution of Upper Wharfedale.
